Coffee from Thailand is still a rarity in Europe. No wonder: most of you are probably only familiar with Thai coffee beans in connection with instant coffee, as it is mainly Robusta grown in the south that is processed. However, there are now an increasing number of farms that also grow Arabica - thanks to a government initiative and the many ambitious family businesses in northern Thailand. What characterizes dark roasted Arabica beans? Dark-roasted coffees are characterized by their dark brown, almost black oil, which makes the surface shimmer, and a strong, full body. Dark roasted coffee typically has a strong, smoky flavor, as the aromas of the coffee's country of origin are almost completely roasted out.
