Lemongrass is drunk all over Asia after meals for pure refreshment. Well known as an ingredient in Thai cooking, it also makes a wonderful and unexpectedly sweet, soft citrus drink.
How to prepare lemongrass tea:
1. If you use fresh lemongrass, about 1-2 tablespoons.
2. Pour about 500ml of boiling water over the plant parts.
3. Let the tea steep for about 10-15min and then remove the parts of the plant.
In terms of taste, lemongrass tea harmonizes particularly well with ginger. A dash of fresh lemon and some honey round off the taste experience. When temperatures are warm, you can also enjoy lemongrass tea cold as a refreshing summer drink.
