Black Himalayan salt or Kala Namak - natural and additive-free.
Himalayan salt is a natural rock salt that is mined in the salt mines at the foot of the Himalayas in Pakistan and India. The salt is mined by hand and then usually ground or formed into different crystal sizes.
Unlike sea salt, however, this salt is not formed "overnight", but is the result of a long process of evaporation of seawater that took place millions of years ago. When the area that is now the Himalayas was covered by an ancient ocean, the heat of the sun concentrated the minerals in the soil and rocks into salt deposits, which were then buried under layers of sediment and rock. The pressure of tectonic shifts pushed these sediments to the surface, where they were exposed to erosion and weathering and at the same time became accessible for mining.
