Effect: Apart from the flowers, it contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids. Forget-me-not was already used in the Middle Ages to treat lung complaints, tuberculosis and colds. It has an anti-inflammatory, astringent, calming and strengthening effect and could be used for many purposes if no stronger medicinal plants were available. In homeopathy, field forget-me-not is sometimes used to treat diseases of the lymphatic system.
Preparation: Pour 200 ml of boiling water over 2 g of tea (1 tablespoon of flowers) per cup and leave to infuse for 5-10 minutes.
Storage: The herbal tea should be kept dry and protected from light.
